Zymogram Precast Gels

Zymogram Precast Gel is designed for the detection of MMP (Matrix Metalloproteinase) with gelatin as the substrate. It is an SDS-PAGE gel containing 0.1% gelatin and is used to detect proteases that utilize gelatin as a substrate. After treatment with renaturing buffer and developing buffer, the gel is reactivated, and upon staining, transparent bands appear where the substrate has been degraded. This method is used for the detection of enzyme families related to inflammatory diseases or cancer, particularly MMPs.
